DS was created by two individuals who were instrumental in
the development of the Motor Insurance Database. Having developed the solution
for how vehicles should be declared to the MID they realised there was a need
to convert theory to practice.
The two principals bring complementary skills and experience
to bear on this task, from the perspective of the Insurer rather than the
regulatory authorities.
Phil Cunningham, BSc (Hons), ACII, has many years background
working within the Motor Underwriting marketplace, and has first hand knowledge
of the business and commercial issues that many insurers will be facing. Whilst
operating as an independent consultant, Phil was appointed as the Phase II
Project Manager for the MIIC.
Ian Witham, BA (Hons), has worked for many large Insurers in
successfully delivering robust and effective IT solutions. Ian was the
Technical Programme Manager at the Motor Insurers Information Centre and whilst
providing key technical advice and design for Phase 2 he was also the main
architect behind Phase 1.
From our previous involvement in the Phase 1 MID programme,
we have an excellent knowledge of dealing with Experian, and have good working
relationships within the MIIC, MIB, ABI, Insurers, Software Houses and other
organisations.
Based on our extensive experience gained from providing
services in this area to other Insurers, Brokers and Policyholders, we believe
that we can provide an economical solution which not only more than fulfils the
immediate needs of Insurers, but provides advantages to the Insurance company, its
agents and its customers..
