The principals
of Motor Data Solutions (MDS) worked within the Motor
Insurers' Information Centre programme office, in London,
to deliver Phase 1 of the MID, addressing the problem
of Uninsured Driving amongst individually insured drivers. |

October 2000 ~ October 2001 |
|
|
|
In parallel,
work commenced on defining a solution for the Industry
to meet the requirements of the 4th EU Motor Insurance
Directive. Actively engaged with Insurers, Brokers and
Policyholders, MDS's principals formulated their approach
to the 4th Directive |

October 2001 ~ January 2002 |
|
|
|
MDS decided
to launch its own service to the Industry aimed at reducing
costs, providing flexible and timely solutions and addressing
the real needs of all parties |
|
January 2002~ April 2002 |
|
|
|
MDS worked with
Insurers, Brokers and Policyholders to define the best
solution, culminating in April 2002 with the signing
of a development agreement with Sapphire Technologies
to build a web site for MDS, code named MIDAS. |
|
July 2002 |
|
|
|
MIDAS launched
to pilot users, using a mix of Interactive, Attended
and Unattended File Transfer. |
|
August 2002 |
|
|
|
MIDAS launched
for general use. |
