MDS increases Fleet Market penetration
10th June 2004 - with a further large fleet signing with Arval PHH, one of MDS's several partners in the Fleet and Logistics area, MDS reaches the 200 mark for major haulage and company car fleets being consolidated and submitted to the MID
Fleets start to feel the heat
14th May 2004 - Fleets which are not complying with the legislation are facing fines as a result of the failure to supply data. None of MDS's commercial fleet customers have been targeted demonstrating the value of outsourcing this routine but vital task. See here for a link to the full story.
RAC highlights continued Uninsured Driving issue

MDS passes 400,000 vehicle mark
30th April 2004 - Just 18 months since we first commenced live data loads to the MID, MDS has processed its 400,000th unique vehicle registration on behalf of its 1300 corporate, broker and Insurer clients.
Rise in interest in Uninsured Driving reduction
5th February 2004 - The ABI, BBC and others have started to report on the state of Uninsured Motoring in the UK. A number of newspaper, web and radio articles have appeared recently which highlight the problem. Click here for the BBC.
RAC report highlights problems of Uninsured Driving
26th January 2004 - The RAC has produced its annual report showing trends and views in UK Motoring. One area it highlights is the cost to the honest motorist of Insurance. A link to the report can be found here on the RAC website.
Irish 4th EU approach outlined
5th January 2004 - The Republic of Ireland has established its approach to the 4th EU Motor Insurance Directive. MDS analyses this approach and circulates customers. A link to the analysis can be found here
EU to take action against non-complying Member states
24th November 2003 - The EU is to take action against several EU states (including Ireland) for their failure to implement the 4th EU Motor Insurance directive. A link to the EU website can be found here
MP's address Uninsured Driving issue
3rd November 2003 - Using the Early Day Motion mechanism, 43 MP's highlight the issue of the large number of Uninsured Drivers on the UK's roads, and recommend a "Tax Disc" solution to the problem. 5th EU Directive updated 
1st November 2003 - New provisions have been inserted relating to a central body which must be notified of all traffic-accident reports and the issue of automatic no-fault cover of cyclists and pedestrians has been shelved - for the moment, at least! Follow the link (more) for more information.

MDS promotes Broker service
25th March 2003 - MDS has responded to the current crop of problems facing brokers who are responding to requests for assistance from their clients, faced with the increasing checks and verification expected of them by their Insurers. While we've always provided a a service to brokers, the current issues need a more focussed approach, and we've therefore taken this opportunity to refresh and update our services, and are marketing them actively to some 300+ brokers in the UK. MDS provides services to Leasing Companies
1st February 2003 - MDS have been selected by, or are in the final selection stages for, Interleasing, Lloyds TSB Autolease, ARVAL PHH and CLM Fleet Management to assist them in providing their vehicle data, held by them on behalf of their clients, to the Insurers of their clients. This service avoids the client having to rekey existing information and provides a one-stop-shop for the leasing companies. MDS also integrates information daily rental companies and from the client organisations themselves, where this data is not already held by the leasing company.
MDS provides services to Allianz Cornhill
28th January 2003 - MDS have been selected by Allianz Cornhill Insurance to help their scheme-based Self Drive Hire customers enter their lists of vehicles for the MID / 4th Directive. Over 180 customers are enabled to transmit their data, either by fax & phone or over the Internet, to MDS for formatting and adding to the MID. This continues the scheme formerly offered by NIS.
MDS loads first Fleet customer to Phase 2.
15th November 2002 - MDS have successfully loaded one of the first of many of their commercial fleet customers to the Phase 2 MID using their dedicated Phase 1 link to Experian. Premier Despatch, a leading logistics firm, have been completing their vehicle returns for several weeks using MDS's easy-to-use system. MDS have acted on behalf of Mitsui Sumitomo, the London-based Insurer.(more)
Brokers hear details of Insurer's approach.
18th September 2002 - MDS today presented to an audience of over 100 broker delegates the likely impact of the 4th EU Motor Directive on UK Insurers, Brokers and Policyholders. 10th September 2002 - MDS adds DVLA vehicle details, keyed from the VRM, to their MIDAS 4th EU Directive system. Now, for just a few pence, Insurers, Brokers and Policyholders can have the Make and Model automatically added to their Interactive, Spreadsheet and FTP supplied data - including CO2 & VIN .. (more)
